Las Vegas, NV ————————————> Barstow, CA
Dare I say it. Death Valley.
Why doesn’t anyone talk about driving through Death Valley? or even mentioning Barstow, California? Because someone should.
Okay, we were in Las Vegas for a couple days. I am hungover, need to get work done and I just want to get out of the car. I find the next hotel for one night and we end up in Barstow, CA.
I should of followed the signs when we entered into Barstow that we should of left as soon as possible. This is not a town you want to stop in anymore. It looks like a historic Route 66 destination spot. I can see people coming and going to Las Vegas and stopping in Barstow with your family. Well, that was the past. This is now.
Right now, you drive down the historic Route 66 and all you see is death. You do not know what is open or what is closed. You are wondering if this is real and something is telling you to lock the door.
All in all, it was a growing experience. Long story short, ended up locking ourselves into the hotel room working with HBO on for the rest of the night.
We could of not got out of there sooner the next morning. At least the hotel had a free breakfast and coffee.
