Minneapolis, MN traveling to Council Bluffs, IA

Packed up and ready to go.  Leaving home behind.  Packing up the dogs and the necessities of life.  Which is everything, right!?  All of a sudden I am not comfortable leaving so much behind.

This is the challenge.  The road to elsewhere.  The road to my dreams and who I am becoming. #DigitalNomad #RoadTripToElsewhere

Driving through the night from Minneapolis, MN, drifting with the wind, heading south to Council Bluffs, IA. It is my first time leaving the north star state in around 10 years.  (Okay, I went to Wisconsin, but that does not count.)

Having my first vacation in around 10 years there is this thick layer of skin that is ready to shed. My body is trembling uncomfortably as my mind has no idea what we are in store for.

The only plan we had was to go with the flow and take it day by day.  Point a finger on a map and just go.  Not moving too fast, not moving too slow.

Planning to work on the road and evolve into a Digital Nomad, I was excited and ready for the challenges on the road.

We drove into Council Bluffs, IA and stayed at the local Casino. Arriving after 3AM we were energized to get the dogs to bed and head down to the casino.  We arrive in our room to two bottles of wine, which is the best thing ever when getting off the road, no matter what the price. Cheers! We have made it to our first destination.

Walking down to the casino to relax, we lost all concept of time and ending up losing the dollars in our pockets.  We knew we were excited, but not that excited to gamble it away.  Especially in Iowa.

I also vaguely remember getting called out from being from “Minnnneesooootaaa” – my accent is out of this world when I get out of the state. I knew this was just the first time of many.

We headed to bed as the sun is rising to prepare to wake up in a short couple of hours to check out of the casino hotel and get back on the road.
